Topic for the day-1

My topic for writing today is snails. Pretty weird I know.. But I like snails. Not inside my home though. I don't know which book it was but there was a vivid description about the way snails leave a silver trail in the sunlight. I think it was an Enid Blyton book.

I like snails because some of them are very beautiful. They have their own pace in life.. Not really bothered about the fast world around them. Looking at snails takes me to a fairy world. Somewhere I do not have so many responsibilities and where everything is peachy. All of us want to live in a problem free world if given an option.:)

Memoires Post FS

This post is only meant as a token of my gratitude to a lot of people. It may seem Greek and Latin to anyone not mentioned below. :) Our inter unit fashion show happened last tuesday. Ya it is been a week but memories are still fresh. The best part was we designed and created all the dresses.. Can you believe it software engineers doing all the work. I am proud of everyone in the team. I will try to enlist everyone here in random order. Sorry if I miss out anyone

@Captain.. Seriously we could not have done so much without your help:) You were an inspiration. You were always the adult around.

@T chettan.. You rocked as the tree. Very nice attitude. :)

@Ms. J.. I was shocked at the amount of detailing you had done to your dress. On the actual day you were looking grand. Simply magnificent.

@Mr. A.. Eventhough you came in at the last moment you were an integral part of the show:)

@Ms. S.. Hey you really put in a lot of effort. It was fun having you around. Remember the time when you, Ms. L and me were painting the fire. We had a fun time just us gals:) We talked about a lot of things that day, right?

@Ms. D.. You looked beautiful in that fully green dress. Only you could carry it off. I still remember the day we tried a demo run of the dress. You were crying about how hard it was to put on. But finally you looked fantastic. The crowd loved you:)

For the second round we had:
@Mr. H or rather Mr. S like i would prefer calling him coz of the costume. You did wonderfully well with all the props. actually the final dress was a total hit.. To the point:D as I would say:)

@Mr. C as I call him for obvious reasons. :) Only you had the nerve to pull it off. I dont think anyone else could have done that:)

@Mr. R what a pose. I am glad hospital people did not see you else they would have taken you and put you on medication.

@ Chinnu Minnu.. I know you will kill me for calling you this but it was the captain's idea to call you that in the first place. So beat him up first:D You stole the show. Really. The formation was perfect. Hope you guys heard the applause during your formation.

Round 3:

@ R.. My god you had a gr8 look. Perfect for what you potrayed. I was scared:P

@ H aka KK .. Only you would have the composure even when things go wrong. And now I can understand why FS is something you love doing:)

@L .. You rock girl.. As captain said your walk was super:) I was am amazed at how you carried it off, especially for your first time ramp walk:)

@M.. I am proud of you. You did justice to your costume.. The hardwork you put in finally payed off.. and you look good with your hair loose:)

Behind the scenes:
@Mr. A or Mr. C N as you are known. Thanks a lot.. I guess I cannot put in words the gratitude that all of us feel:)

@Ms. V and Ms. J.. Your dedication knows no parallel. Hats off to you.:)

@Ms. V.. You did pretty good as the MC. You have a wonderful clarity about your voice:)

@Mr. A.. Wonderful ppt.. It was par excellence:)

@ Mr. R the car enthusiast. I remember the painting that we did on the already existing painting. The lines you drew were perfect. I could not do anything even close to it:)

@ Mr. A.. You were a big help. You used to stay up with all of us for all the small helps that you could render:)

I almost forgot Mr. V or Mr. B as he is popularly known.. You made us laugh like crazy:D First day of designing was jus the 3 of us. Remember what all we tried to do for the costume which ultimately came to me?:D

Ultimately after the FS I have made a lot of friends for life. Thank you everyone. And more than the prize what matters is if we had fun. And I can say with certainity that we enjoyed to the max. I am actually thankful to the company for such an occasion.. This is what makes life memorable at office. :)

The best friendship day ever..[:)]

Its August 1st 2010.. As always life stays busy for yours truly.. Morning had some urgent things to attend then at noon had guests.. But the best part came after 3:50pm.. My friends from school and I had planned to meet up at the beach.. Last two weekends were hectic. Did not even have time to enjoy a moment. My friend Ms.A is going to Chicago on aug 11th. So it was like the last time in a loong time that all of us were going to be together.. As always there was a laughter spree.. Chats, gossips and of course the main course of talk nowadays ie about marriage plans for each of us.. For around 3 hours I was taken back to the school days.. Studied in the same class in the same bench in 9th and 10th and now in entirely different fields.. Life has so many pleasant twists.. I loved the day.. I love being with my friends.. Thanks all 4 of you and all of you who know I consider you close to my heart..

Life now- as a working professional

Been around a year since I last blogged. I am a working now. Never ever imagined to be in the IT industry. But I am now. Day starts at 6 am and ends at god-alone-knows what time. My parents have given me additional freedom since I am working. Plus getting a paycheck every month isnt a bad prospect either. Work is not always fun and play its a bit hectic at times but my friends make my day even if I am down in the dumps. Life has changed a lot from my last post time. I think I have matured a bit more. [Not sure how many who know me will agree:D] Something that was not there a year back is pressure to get married.[:D] That aside I miss my college friends and also one of my best friends got married on june 20th. Wishing her and her hubby a very happy married life through this post[:)]

We had a project party yesterday. It was nice. My first project party. I actually thought I would be bored as most of my friends are in other projects. Only two good friends of mine are in related projects. We started from office by around 6:15 and went to turtle on the beach near kovalam. It seems to be a beautiful place to be in but since it was already dusk I could not see much. We went in a bus and there was dancing. Oh ya we danced even to songs which we dint understand.[:D] Then once we reached turtle on the beach we were given a grand treat of vada and coffee[:P] There were a lot of wedding bells announcements followed by a song section. 4 of us girls(or should i say ladies) sang and due to popular demand we were not given a chance to sing a second song[:D] Even our PM sang. He actually did a pretty good job of it. Then we were asked to go to the restaurant downstairs to have the main course. This was a wonderful news for us as we thought the project party was about to end with the vada and coffee..[:P]But due to photo emergencies 7 of us girls and one guy got lost. True to saint gobain glass's ad, the guy tried to walk through a glass pane. Thank god nothing major happened, other than a bump on his head. I did not know whether to feel sorry for him or laugh. His reaction was priceless. That kinda proved my theory that people can actually be blind enough to try to walk through glass like in the ad.[:D] Oh ya and glass did not break. Food was pretty good. Got chocolate soufle, vanilla ice cream etc as dessert. Even the ambience was good. At around 9 we all dispersed. I actually was under the impression that I would be bored but somehow everything worked out well. Thanks to my new friends at office.[:)]Time to say good bye. I need to get some rest now.

The final day

Though alarm tried its level best to wake me up since 5.30am.. It never could and I finally woke up at 6.30am..Got up thinking of the dream I had and praying to God that no untoward incidents happen all day and my microwave lab should go well.. .. After all its the official final day of college..

Feeling a little unsure of how I am going to do today.. I went and asked my mom if I'l do well today.. Its kind of like a reassurance for me when she says,"Yes, you'l do well." Well seems like I was not going to get that assurance today.. Mom started grumbling about how I am gona do well if I dont study.. Felt really depressed and I ran off to my room.. Well depression can only be compensated by one thing for me.. My "vaashi" as it is called in malayalam.. Somehow when mom said I wont do well.. The only thing I wanted was exactly the opposite.. Half way through my studies I came down to check something.. And poor mom was feeling bad she said that way and was trying her level best to make it upto me.. That is my mom!!

After my final preps I had my breakfast and got ready to go to college.. I had everything neatly set for the day.. I almost always do..[People who have been in my room during IV might this] I like everything organised except my room.. Somehow I could never keep it organised which I still feel is one of the worst habits of mine.. My dress was pressed and kept.. and of course since its the final day.. How can I not end with a red dress..[People who know me might be chuckling if they read this.] After packing everything neatly, the record hall ticket etc that I had to take into the lab was in a cover and my books and stuff to read were in my bag I started my car.. Hoping its the final journey to college for examination.. Unless the university thinks otherwise.. Prayed again to God that the day should go well..

On reaching college, I found that the parking lot was more or less empty even though it was 9.15am.. My slot for exam was form 11-1.. Taking a deep breath.. I walked towards the front of IT lab.. Many of my IT friends were sitting there and studying.. Exchanges of all the best and best of lucks, I walk down the steps to the front of the lab.. Cant seem to find my classmates.. But saw one of my best friends Ms.A[she is in IT and not in my class] sitting and studying for her course viva in front of ec lab.. When I was talking to her I noticed my classmates, the first batchers for microwave lab studying something.. It was elementary to think all the other classmates of mine would be there.. Waiting two minutes there trying to decide what to study, I saw my best friend Ms.R studying and Ms. V was just walking in.. Tried studying something sitting there.. But no luck.. I am easily distracted by my friends and their antics.. After the usual exchange of teases between me and Ms.V, we both went to the front of the lab.. By the time all my close friends had reached.. Discussion started about the farewell today.. We all just somehow wanted to get into the laboratory and finish off.. Somehow we all had reached the conclusion that the first chance the teachers ask us to get in we will..

Finally Remya teacher did ask us to get ready.. Within a few minutes we got in.. It was according to roll number.. I was the 5th to go in, in my batch.. I was asked to find out if the fibre was multimode or single mode.. Had a small idea of what the answer is and got the output in around 10 minutes then tied my paper and was sitting ready for my viva.. Somehow even that went off without too many problems.. And got out at around 11.30..
The relief I had when the exam got over was beyond words.. Plans for the evening was set and I started back for home after an hour.. As always my car was full.. Somehow I love it when everyone comes with me.. Its a nice feeling when everyone is together.. Today it wasn't the usual set of people.. It was Ms. A1,Ms.A2, Ms. M, Ms.S. Till PMG everyone talked and the adieus was till party time.. [:D] My final journey back to home from an examination..

Reached home and called dad.. By this time the feeling had sunk in that my examinations are over.. I started my dancing around.. Made my mom also dance with me.. [:D] Soon enough lunch was ready and mom and me sat down to eat.. I switched on the TV to watch animax.. Maria watches over us-Printemps was going on.. Even in that some of the 3rd year students were leaving their school Lilian.. Something that was said in that anime struck a chord and I decided to blog, "These three years were the best years in my life". Looking back

These four years were the best years in my life!

An outsider or insider??

She was an outsider.. She had no natural reasons to be with them.. But they accepted her to be one of them.. Why they accepted her is something she does not understand even to this day..
When things were going all wrong for her.. When she did not know whom to trust.. She met people who she would have never expected to be her best friends in the coming years.. What made this bond is still one of the mysteries of life which can be attributed to be what some people say destiny and some others say luck.. She still thinks she is lucky to have had everything turn in her favour.. Initially it was just a hi-hello friendship.. Slowly it grew.. n grew.. n grew.. She had a sort of freedom with them which she never had with many other people.. They accepted her for what she is.. In spite of her relentless talking.. People gave it a love-angle.. She gave it an angle of friendship.. The sort of friendship that let her be herself..
Begining was confusing.. She doubted her stand.. She doubted if they were putting up with her or genuinely enjoyed her company.. Why did she feel that way?? She does not know even today.. Now her attitude can be put in these words "you have to put up with me".. The change in attitude can be attributed to the faith in the friendship.. The sort of faith that says she is never going to lose these friends of her's..
Friendship is beyond romantic inclinations.. For her it's her driving force.. This bond is what makes her smile when she thinks about these people and everyone else in this big circle of friends[:)] Thank you life!

To someone special

This is dedicated to a very special person in my life.. Don't misinterpret.. Its not a romantic poem..

The way your innocent eyes
glow with a naughty light

The way you run around
enjoying every moment

Reminds me of a small girl
that I know is hidden inside you

When I see you smile ,
I pray to god it never fades

When I see you sad or perplexed,
I wish I could make everything alright within seconds

When you don't come to class
I miss having my little monkey around

Even if it means letting you tease me,
I would do it to see that lovely smile on your face

I love sharing my secrets with you,
Coz you keep them as secrets

I have trusted you
and I know trust doesn't come easy

I have opened up in front of you,
Coz you have made me feel special

You have touched my life in ways that ,
I could only have hoped for in days before i met you

Sometimes you are my older sis,
but mostly my younger

Sometimes you are naughtier,
but then we make a great pair there

Sometimes I wish we would never fight,
But mostly I love how we patch up after fights

You act as if you are tough,
But I know how you are..

You can make me laugh or cry,
But both never fail to remind me how special you are to me

You love others unconditionally
But then you are loved so much too

Coz you are a gorgeous gal,
you have a long queue following you

But its nice that you never fail
to be there for me even when others haven't

My sis... my best friend ...
You are one of the special people in my life

Little women

This post is dedicated to the book which instilled in me the love of reading. Hats off to the Louisa May Alcott for writing Little Women. Today had a chance of watching the screen adaptation of the novel.

The book is a gem of a book which I think most people should read. When I read it I was in my 4th or 5th standard I think. I had never read a proper novel. All that I read where things like famous five and Nancy Drews. But the book little women made me fall in love with other type of novels. I used to consider myself as jo march because at that time I used to be a tomboyish person. Maybe some people will dispute the "used to" part. Plus at that time I wanted to become a writer. I still have some stuff left of the novels I used to write at that time. But its the imagination of a 8 year old so you can understand I hope[:)]. Plus like Jo I liked romance stories. Even now I am a sucker for romance novels.

What really moves me is the fact that a book which was written in 1867 and early 1868 still seems to capture the imagination of all the young girls everywhere who do not dare to dream. Jo was my idol at one time. The novel follows the lives of four sisters — Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy March — and is loosely based on the author's childhood experiences with her three sisters(courtesy wiki). Each sister really has to deal with one thing or the other. Meg with vanity, Jo with her tomboyishness and hot temper, Beth with her illness and shyness and Amy with her selfishness. Ms. Alcott has portrayed the novel in a way in that though the whole concept of what was "appropriate" for girls and a lot of other things have changed in around 140 years, the story remains timeless.

(Pic: Louisa May Alcott)

The movie gives full justice to the book. Every single important instance in the life of the March family girls is depicted with great precision. On the whole I loved the movie and it brought back memories of the book I consider one of the best novels I have read so far. There are adaptations of the book into plays, musical, opera, movie and as an animated feature. Needless to say I have watched the animated feature before[:D] 1st movie was made in 1918. Makes me think of how ignorant I am. Dont even know when TV was invented. (I thought there was no TV back then) Seems there is a 1933 version of the movie starring Katherine Hepburn. Here are the main characters of the movie which I saw, it seems it is the much celebrated 1994 version:

Actors
Winona Ryder Jo March
Susan Sarandon Mrs March
Gabriel Byrne Friedrich Bhaer
Trini Alvarado Meg Marsh
Samantha Mathis Older Amy Marsh
Kirsten Dunst Younger Amy Marsh
Claire Danes Beth Marsh
Christian Bale Laurie
Eric Stoltz John Brooke
John Neville Mr Laurence
Mary Wickes Aunt March
Florence Paterson Hannah

Kristen Dunst is a small girl in it.. Very cute.. :) Susan Sarandon as usual is great. Others well I don't know much about them.. Winona Ryder gave a very convincing performance as Josephine March.
It was a trip down the memory lane to the book I loved a lot.:)

Fashion- The movie..

Here's my take on the movie which I have been wanting to see in a loooong time. Fashion is a movie for which Priyanka Chopra won best actress and Kangana Ranaut- best supporting actress at the filmfare awards this time around. I am not a person who generally reviews a movie and blogs about it as you can see.
Why "fashion"? The answer I would say would be because of two reasons:
1. I admire priyanka chopra..:) and this is definitely a movie where she definitely is the "showstopper" as they call it in the movie.
2. The movie teaches a lot about life in general if you dont just take it as a movie related to fashion industry.

The whole movie revolves around the life of a middle class girl who dreams big.. Even I am like that though my dreams maybe in a different direction than becoming the next top model. Actually i dont think there was much meaning to the first half of the film other than that if you have a fast rise to fame it is soon to come down.So be careful where your attitude turns into arrogance you never know when all of it can bite back.

The one thing I learned from this film is that in this race called life,if you fall you have to get up and run again because its the only way you will succeed. But her freezing on the ramp taught something else too.. When you get up after a fall the first few steps might just make u trip again. But don't let that get you down. Push yourself.. And success will come eventually.. But what you lose might be much more than what you imagined you would lose.. Most places I have read/seen it says you fail get up and try again. It is expected that you will succeed the next time around. But not all need to be successful in their very next trial. Sometimes this trial might be even worse than anything before but it is a phase and you just have to let it pass. Somehow having faced failures more now than before all of this seems to make sense to me.

A final word on fashion.. It is a worth watch movie if you don't just want to see an just an entertainer. Wont say a must watch unless you are a die hard fan of piggy chops.

And another thing i learned is drink water instead of vodka if ever you are depressed.[:P] also say no to cigarettes and coke..[:D]

My first crush i suppose and a potpouri of stuff..

As usual its been sometime since i posted anything on my blog..
For all those ppl who bother to visit my blog might be thinking what made me write this post.. Well one word "nostalgia". I logged on the messenger today and was chatting with akky(sasi).. He send me a youtube video clip of jungle book title song:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L8i_YPfenqc

What a time that was.. Jungle book, mowgli, bageera, balu everyone.. they were all as much my friends as they were mowgli's.. Those were the days.. life was so much simpler then.. no university exams just class tests for which i dint put much effort to study but somehow got reasonable marks.. No tensions.. Jus fun, play and my imaginary world..

Then came the age which revolutionised my life.. 1996 and lo and behold here comes cable tv and with it cartoon network.. nothing better than 24*7 cartoons.. Since my mom wasnt home till 6pm from 9am my life was mostly reading some books and cartoons on cartoon network.. My favourite program as some people already might know was ninja robots.. initially it was 5pm then they shifted it to 4:30pm.. I was addicted to this japanese cartoon.. I was jus 8 years then.. N i suppose i had a crush on the protagonist of the anime-joe maya.. I wish i could replace one of the gals he was in love with.. jenny(his all time friend/gf?) or princess romina(the alien princess).. I just could not help myself but admire the beauty and elegance of princess Romina..

The story goes something like this.. A race of aliens from andromeda with their princess Romina land on mars.. Oh pls note this series is very futuristic.. People inhabit mars and moon and all.. Joe Maya, his bro Mike and Joe's gf (i suppose) Jenny live on mars.. ppl pls correct me if im wrong.. Somehow Joe ends up on the alien ship and a ninja robot starts working after he is engulfed into it(the golden lion) the rest is a story of how he,Mike Jenny become part of the crew of the space ship and a host of a loot of other characters that help the aliens defeat the evil lord who has taken over their planet.. The story runs into hundred plus episodes.. and i think i have watched the show at least 4 times b4 i came to trivandrum when i had to part with my beloved ninja robots series..

For all those who have seen the series.. Have you had ny theories on what happened after the robots merged? I wish they both came out alive after that.. I want to see if there is the next part to ninja robots.. Its jus not fair that they ended it like that..[:(]

I still remmber the title song of ninja robots.. and thanks to youtube, i could jog my memory again regarding the scenes..[:)]How time flies.. 13 years later im here.. in college hoping to finish off my college days with a blast.. 2 months only left.. maybe even less.. Then its adieu to the college which gave me a loot of memorable moments..

I want to go back to the time when nothing caused worry other than the fact that mom would scold me if she saw me watching tv or if i dint put plates and all the vessels i ate from, bak in the kitchen.. (lemme share a secret:i did watch cartoons all day and switched off the tv when i heard mom's scooter reach the shed..i am a good gal aint i?[:D])

One on a lighter vien..(for all those who dint think all of this sounded funny[:D])
Here are 2 things i tried to do watching ninja robots are:
1.try to run and fly like i had falcon wings
2. try to run like they did.. it was a peculiar style..
I was just too alone during those times that my friends other than my friends in school were these characters.. Those were the days i missed having a sibling..

I reached late for my dance classes coz i dint want to go without watching ninja robots at least till 4:45..

Its too bad i cant go bak to those times.. Mom never used to scold me abt studying bak then[:D] n well not such a plethora of problems to handle[:(] all in all it was a gr8 time while it lasted.. Hope every child has a cartoon favourite to him or her..

until i can download the video, here's the link to ninja robots title song:

My Experiments with cooking-part 2

My bro and sis-in-law were coming home from UK today. So thought i will make something special for them. I had seen a jalebi recipe some days back and was really surprised that making a jalebi was this simple. But everything did not go as I planned. When I reached home from college it was already 3pm. Mom asked me not to make jalebi then as all of them where going to go to our native place soon. Slightly disheartened i agreed to what she said. I had prepared the batter one day back since the curd in it had to ferment before use. I small pang of hurt hit me as they all left without even knowing i was going to prepare jalebi for them. Dad and me stayed back when they left. Dad was a bit busy so i thought might as well make it for him and so finally i started preparations. I did not have a squeezer for normal jalebi so used the one for iddiappam. Fried the dough and dipped it in sugar syrup. Homemade jalebi ready. No artificial colouring. Special thanks to Aswathy Ganapath for giving me the idea of putting a bit of "manja podi" to give it the yellow colour. I was going to make it colourless[:)] Oh and about the jalebi, it tasted alright. I would say a little less curd would be preferrable for a normal south indian but as a north indian dish it was good enough. Only person who ate it is dad and he had two in one go. Second drawback was that i only got an approximate shape not the actual shape. [:)]Since foto was demanded last time, here is the final product.

So how does it look?[:D]

My experiments with cooking

Past two days I have occupied the kitchen much more than usual.. Sudden urge to cook something special..

These are the things which i made:
1.Carrot Halwa
2.Paneer lifafa(modified version of original)
3.Steamed egg
4.Banana Halwa

Carrot halwa was good. I had my cousin bro to act as a guinea pig for me. I asked him today if he was ok after eating my cooking and his reply was in the positive..[:D] Spirited by my success yesterday I made paneer roti lifafa(menu courtesy sanjay kapoor) Well lifafa was good if you subtract the fact that i think sanjay kapoor meant something else[:D] but what i made was edible and i liked it.. Along with this i tried my hand at steamed egg. No i dont mean hard boiled egg. This again was courtesy sanjay kapoor's web[:)] only problem was the egg turned out to be half boiled.. and i really couldnt digest much of it. Today's menu was banana halwa.. Turns out tat its very simple. But if you do it according to what is given in the recipe you will end up with too much ghee in the halwa which a lot of south indians may not prefer. One good thing about banana halwa is that it can be made for bananas that are too ripe. Most people would throw ripe bananas out so why not make something out of it[:)]
Tonight plans are for making something with rice.. [:D]

Note: For all those who are thinking of whether this is the first thing i have made think again. I like cooking. Not an expert at it but i wouldn't say i am too bad..[:)]
Also if anyone has tried cooking something else and think its good give me the recipe i want to try[:)]

My Precious Cup

Well.. might as well not keep the blog dry.. Pls comment on the following post if you read it.. This was my article for our college magazine in 2007.. The magazine committee due to some technical reasons rejected it.. I respect their decision coz in the end its their call..:) Please comment on whether you can understand the post..Maybe ya my writing style needs to be revamped.. would definitely try doing that if majority cannot understand..:) For all those who intend to have a literal narration this is not for you..
Statutory warning: Pun intended...

MY PRECIOUS CUP!

“Mom, I have to go to college soon….”said the girl. The girl is in her late teens. Mom who was sitting at the dining table having her breakfast gives her a nod and a look which means everything will be okay. Suddenly, from the kitchen there was a crashing sound... the girl sighed and thought to herself, “It isn’t the first time that this has happened.” Last that she saw was her dad going into the kitchen. His hand accidentally hit the cup; the girl’s precious cup had broken. The girl always had a special cup. But this cup was the closest one to her heart. None matched up to this. Neither did she have too much attachment to the rest. Be it coffee, tea or even just water, she always used the same cup. There had been many instances in the past too when her cups had broken under various circumstances. But this time it had broken in a very special way. The cup as such was intact; it was the handle that had broken.
“Next time don’t keep your cup on the edge.” shouted the girl’s dad. The girl being too drained of all emotions to react just said an ok and thought to herself, I didn’t keep the cup on the edge! I never do! Dad always keeps it on the edge. Shouldn’t he say the same to himself? The girl sighed again and went to check the damage to her cup. Had it been a few years back she would have cried incessantly in front of everyone for hours for her cup even if it didn’t mean as much to her.
Well the cup looks ok; she thought to herself, it’s just the handle that’s broken. Somehow she knew the hurt she felt was more than she seemed to show. Why create a fuss? It’s broken... Everything that is made breaks one day or the other. She ran her fingers through the broken handle... Ouch!! Porcelain edges r sharp. But why do I feel this numbness? Did I expect it? Or am I too drained to react? Why don’t I cry? I always have cried for the silliest of things but why can’t I now? My precious cup, the best suited cup was broken, had some of the best drinks in this. It was almost always with me, at least filled with water. Don’t I feel angry at my dad? No, what’s the point? What is broken is broken. But I can’t throw the cup away because it was my precious cup and also only its handle is lost, she told herself. My favorite cup! The cup that lasted more than five years. Wish the cup was either alright or completely broken. In the second case at least I could buy a new one and get over this. But it’s just the handle that is broken. It still means the same to me. But without the handle, it’s not the same. I love my cup. I know what I should do is to throw it away, but…. It’s too close to my heart to ever be able to do so...
“You could have kept it somewhere else.” shouted her dad again. Mom looks at her. Somehow her mother understands all of the girl’s thoughts and says, “Don’t bother too much about the cup. It still isn’t shattered. Everything can be made alright later. Go to college now.”
Alright?????, the girl thought, my cup is broken! I don’t want to see it shatter! I will always keep it safe the way it is now... My cup is broken now... My precious cup!

Somethings in life...:)

Its 9am.. Just finished my breakfast.. Time to leave for college.. First hour free.. No point going early.. But ya dad has to go to office after dropping me.. According to him we are late..

"I dont want to go to college now, no use other than 'kathiadi'..." Thought to myself.. "Not in a mood for talking..."

I get my bag and get in the car... Still in a very contemplative mood I lower the window thinking... The day is gona be boring... Dad gets into the driver's seat and well next thing i know we are at YMR junction(near my house)... Dunno if i even said a bye to mom..

Time to take out my mobile and sms some friends.. Did that with very little enthusiasm than i usual...(oh and for all those who dont know i love smsing) Something struck and i told dad that i think the diesel is low in the car.. Yes, it was.. when dad gave me the car the day before it was near empty and he asked me not to refill.. Dad checks the fuel indicator and asks me if i would mind being a little late to college... Ya like i would mind.. I love driving and also enjoy road trips.. So, detour...to my relief... to the petrol pump at kowdiar.... Wherever we where going i didnt mind coz i wanted to go to college only just before 2nd hour.. Got that done.. and we are on our way to college via vellayambalam, lms, PMG..

A guy sitting in front of the public library caught my eye... No.. Not coz he was good looking or anything... He was sitting with a sheet in front of him which had a lot of watches... There were a lot of people going to him to show their watch.. I looked at the scene and smiled... He is sitting on the footpath doing his job when most shops wouldnt b open...And the fact that he makes a living out of it was even more surprising to me...Time is so important to all of us.. Without a watch most people cant survive a day, including me.. I look at my watch almost every 10mins.. If the class/whatever event I am in is boring it'l be more frequent...:) bad habit i know..:)

Before I could think further i saw another guy.. He was walking around talking on the mobile.. Very happy.. My guess either he was talking to his boss who offered him a raise or he was talking to his gf or wife or gf while his wife was away..:D Anyways his happiness did make me happy... and also made me think about the object in my hand.. Yes.. my mob.. What would i do without it.... Cant imagine the time when i didnt have a mob..

Ok my mob isnt hifi or anything.. Jus basic features.. Nokia 1112... I send arnd 50-100smes(thank God its 10ps) and talk for more than anyone can imagine.... My faithful set and my vodafone connection:) Had it not been for my mobile i would have lost touch with most of my friends.. even may not have been this close to the people who have definitely made my life rocking...:)

How life's influenced by these two things definitely had my thoughts hooked on... Watch is beyond doubt needed as its compact and there is no restriction as to where you carry it to.. be it a exam hall... or a religious place... or a tight security area... Everything is timed... the watch tells you when to do what... Mobile well i don't think i'l need to explain... But what interests me is the fact that we all take the fact that our watch or fone would be working the next day.. One day without either would drive me(and i can say most ppl) nuts.. Yet we all still never think too much about it... :)

Cest la vie!!

From a quote

It is said that power corrupts, but actually it's more true that power attracts the corruptible. The sane are usually attracted by other things than power.
- David Brin (1950 - )
got this from quotationspage.com

I saw this quote today.. needless to say i liked it.. Well for me there are two sides to this quote..

Side 1:
Its true.. Power is attractive to people who are corruptible.. Think of this.. why would someone WANT power? Its definitely not becoz they want it as a momento.. They want to do something about it.. What is the reason that humans do something? mostly it is selfishness.. Even the most 'selfless' have done something for their own good.. It may not be even be that big so as to overshadow their selfless deals but definitely all human beings are selfish.. Its easy to see that the degree of selfishness varies.. Some mayb selfish to the extent that they would do anything to get their ends fullfilled some maybe selfish to very small degrees that no one even notices it.. So if the case is former then 'monetary benefits' can be one major factor for wanting power.. that makes them corrupt..

Side 2:
Who gains power automatically?? A 'sane' person or a corruptible one?? Who is entrusted with power initially?? I say its the 'sane' people! Its like leadership.."people who are born leaders are entrusted with duties without them asking for it"quoting one of my friends.. They would have been too used to having power that they do not want to work for more.. So they distribute it thinking that someone else should also get recognition.. Thats when oppurtunity strikes for the 'i-want-power' people.. And well one good thing about these people.. they are good at knowing what door is going to open for them.. These people are tactful to do exactly what is seemingly righteous so as to get to their goal.. So if a sane person was as tactful enough and knew what was going on in his surrouding i think that can make the society less corrupt.. So my advice to all people who are 'sane' is that please do what you can to stop corruption.. India needs to get better.. Be street smart not just selfless[:)]

Study leave!

so its study leave again!!
Mom's home everyday now.. so cant even tell her that i 'had' been studying like i used to in school days and til s4 in colg too.. Well now did i lie to my mom then??? i dont think so.. coz i did study for 5 mins in a day then too.. Thank goodness she never asked me for how much time then.. i wud really have been screwed then.. Nowadays its really hard to prove to my mom that i have been studying..
Only thing she would allow other than study is to sleep.. ohk for all you ppl out ther who are gona say i m lucky think again.. My dad is the exact opposite.. He would never let me sleep.. So now its like keeping my book open and day dreaming.. Again trouble mom knows exactly wat i m doing.. even if i m staring at the book[:P]

Anyone having any suggestions is welcome to comment[:D]

Mom's the best friend that i have ever known.. So here's something i dedicate to her:

When i get up i thank god
that i have someone to turn to,
that i have someone i can share everything with...

You are someone who understands me like no other
You have been with me through thick and thin
You have been there to scold me,to tease me, and to share my joys,
To tell me what i m doing is wrong(but ya i know i retort back like a normal teenager then)

Sorry ma, if i ever hurt you..
You are the best thing that could happen to me..:)

Note:this post maybe out of context and may seem like its not a poem or a prose but thats what i wanted it to be..

Being busy 2

Ohk.. i had written a post before.. about being busy..

Well i have always wanted free time somehow i never got it.. Is it gud or bad.. tat was always my qn.. Today taught me that i cant define if its gud or bad.. but i do know tat its not me..

Most of my friends would agree on this when i say i am usually very busy.. some may term me not having time for them as "jada" to put it in malayalam terms.. But if they are close to me they know that i always find time for ppl who are close to me.. I like being occupied.. and i m sorry if anyone is hurt by it..

Today well in the morning when i went to college i knew this wasnt a typical day in the life of sindhya kartha.. coz well i always have a plan for a day and its always jam packed.. today my only agenda in college was to write a rough record.. Half way through i learned that there was no need to keep the record.. Ya well i m a person whose feelings are reflected on my face and my closest friends could definitely see through it..there were some ppl who saw that i wasnt myself.. they thought i was sad..(vin,rosh,pri,ans,anv,hari,kish i m really glad to have you as my friends, you ppl are the best!!:)) Well ya even i knew i was a bit jumpy but i dint know the reason.. And when they asked why i said nothing.. but it was evident something was bothering me..

Then well one of my friends asked me to do the record work for her.. And to my own surprise i was happy to do it.. She still thinks i did it for her.. But lil did she realize that it was for me that i did it:)

Also learnt something else.. Little things and non-stop chatting can make me happy.. Thank god for that:)

Well whats life all about?? Is it about how much you have studied? How much you have gained? How much you mean to others? I dunno... But i know one thing its not about the big things but about the lil things that make up life.. Somehow i know i m blessed with the best of the little things[:)]
